DIY 101 - Making e-Liquids

With all the bans on flavors destroying the adult right to buy flavored eliquids, many people are left with no choice but to start making their own products.  I hope this guide will help you get started.  If you have any questions, please contact me personally and I'll do my best to help.  If I don't know the answer I'll find someone that does. You can email me at authormichellehughes @ gmail.com please put Re:  Diy Help in the subject line.

So.  How do I get started in this wonderful world of DIY?    The first thing you need are the tools to get you started.  We could debate over whether or not you need a starter kit for days, but instead, let's give you two different ways to go. You can buy the starter kit with the essentials to get you going, or you can purchase them individually. That decision is completely up to you.  What you're going to needs follows:

  • A Scale (One that measures by grams)
  • Propylene glycol (PG)
  • Vegetable Glycerin (VG)
  • Nicotine (I highly suggest starting with 36 mg or lower)
  • Flavor Concentrates
  • Syringes Or Droppers
  • An E-Liquid Calculator (I use http://e-liquid-recipes.com/ for this it's free and stores recipes)
  • Gloves (Please be very cautious when handling nicotine)

Now that you know what you must have let’s talk about how to get them.   My suggestion for a scale is American Weigh Scales LB-501 Digital Kitchen Scale and you can pick it up on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2fvG0qr

So, a starter kit, let’s start with that option.  What this does is gives you a base of tools that you can use to begin your DIY e-liquid journey.  Think of it as DIY for Dummies (not that you’re dumb but sometimes easy is better in the beginning).  There are a few different options and each of them has their merits and drawbacks.  Whatever you start with, flavors are going to become an addiction if you enjoy DIY and you’ll need to find the ones that make your vaping experience worthwhile.  I suggest finding recipes you think look good and buying those flavor concentrates in the beginning.  Here’s a handy list of DIY Starter Kits:

Liquid Barn $59.99 https://www.liquidbarn.com/products/starter-kit (No Nicotine)

Nic Vape $69.99 https://www.nicvape.com/ez-diy-starter-kit (With Nic)

Heartland Vape $44.99 http://wholesale.heartlandvapes.com/diy-kit.html (With Nic)

For many people, it’s more cost-efficient (or they want to pick and choose each item they are going to begin mixing with) to purchase only what you need to get started.  With that thought process in mind here’s where you can pick up these items individually.  Here's a great resource to purchase the items you need with discounts http://e-liquid-recipes.com/resources but you will have to search through each website to see what they offer.  The links below are just a few of the many, but hopefully, they'll get you started in the right direction.
